On April 14, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Samoa Fei Mingxing met with Mr. Tuaopepe Asiata Jerry Wallwork, the President, and Mr. Tuala Matthew Vaea, the Chief Executive Officer, of Samoa Association of Sports & National Olympic Committee, exchanging views on China-Samoa cooperation in the sports sector.

President Tuaopepe briefed on the 2026 Universal Weightlifting Cup to be held in Samoa this month and warmly welcomed the Chinese delegation to attend. He also thanked China for its assistance and support to Samoa, looking forward to further China- Samoa sports exchanges and cooperation.

Ambassador Fei congratulated on the holding of 2026 Wresting Oceania Championships recently concluded in Samoa, and wished the 2026 Universal Weightlifting Cup a success. He also emphasized that China stands ready to strengthen cooperation with Samoa in sports development, delivering more tangible benefit to both peoples.
